How do you define sustainable development?

The first thing that comes up to my mind when I heard the word sustainable development is just like maintaining a progressive life in the long term. Yes, of course, we cannot sustain a better life without making the right decision towards our work, using natural resources, and socializing with other people. What is very important here is the benefits we can make to mother earth as we are the inhabitants of his planet and we all rely on resources so it is our responsibility to take good care of them. However, to meet our needs completely we need to work or establish a business to earn for a living. But we need to make sure that we will survive long and secure our future and the future of our generations. We can achieve sustainable development if we always consider the sake of our resources not minding the income we could generate by abusing nature just to earn double in a short span of time. I remember one of my teachers told us that everything that is too much is bad and no doubt it is relatable to sustainable development. One of the best examples here is the embarcadero, I could still remember the seashore before and how people rely on it. Before our neighbors, even my other family members always go on fishing at night and sometimes in the morning. Then the improvement of the seashore began and many fishermen have been affected by the development made. One of these is their "bancas" and other fishing equipment that has been prohibited from the place they have usually placed it. The continuous working in the area limits the fisherman's capacity to capture fish. Because of this, I could still remember that there are groups in our barangay who made a petition against the construction of embarcadero, particularly in Puro. But the people behind this plan found ways to help the fisherman, they include their plan in the specific place where they are allowed. Meaning to say, if we are planning to put up infrastructure and businesses we should always consider our environment especially the people around that rely on it. Though as we can see, in embarcadero or the boulevard in Legazpi going to Puro, People have made several changes still they are balancing the ecosystem, as we can see they planted more mangroves trees which provide feeding and breeding habitats for birds, crustaceans, and fish. Embarcadero at the same time helps the economy of Bicol creates more jobs not only in fishing but also in waiters, vendors, and tourist guides, and impacts greatly in transportation. The place was in process of developing. It means also that sustainable development grows the economy of a country while taking care of the environment to preserve it for the next generations
